If you decide that you no longer wish to participate in Klout, you can opt out completely by visiting the opt-out page on Klout.com. Because Klout uses public information pulled from the Internet, it may already have some data stored for you even if you have not signed up for Klout. Whether or not you have a Klout account, you can opt out of this data collection.
If you already have a Klout account and you want to opt out of Klout.com, do the following:
  1. Make sure you are logged in to Klout.
  2. Point your browser to the Opting Out of Klout page.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Continue Opting-Out link.
    A new page opens.
  4. Provide Klout with your reason for opting out and type your name in the “signature” box provided.

  5. Click Submit to complete the opting-out process.
If you've never signed up for Klout and wish to have your public profile removed from the website, the process is slightly different.
  1. Point your browser to klout.com/corp/optout and scroll to the bottom of the page.
    You will need to verify that you are the owner of the Klout account in question by allowing Klout to connect with either your Twitter or Facebook account.
  2. Select the account to use and click OK or Allow to verify your identity.
    A new page opens.
  3. Provide Klout with your reason for opting out and type your name in the “signature” box provided.
  4. Click Submit to complete the opting out process.
Because of the nature of information on the Internet, it may take some time for your ties with Klout to disappear. Klout states that accounts take about 24 to 48 hours to be disconnected, but traces of Klout Scores and data can take up to 180 days to completely flush out of its data scoring system.
After you are removed from the Klout system, you can always reconnect later. Just remember that after Klout stops collecting your data, it can take up to 90 days to gather enough new data to provide an accurate Score.
