How to Completely Delete Your Microsoft Account

 

Do you want to close your microsoft account? (windows live account/ hotmail account)

Then do the following to delete your microsoft account.

1. Backup all your important mail by sending them all to your alternate email address.

2. Backup all your contacts and inform them that you will not be using this email address anymore and give them your alternate email address.

3. Go to the Close your account page, click the link: https://dub118.mail.live.com/mail/CloseAccountConfirmation.aspx

NOTE:

When you deactivate your email account, all incoming email will be refused immediately. Your email messages will be deleted from your account, and you will no longer have access to that data. We may retain a copy of this data in our system for about 60 days, after which it will be permanently deleted.

Your email address will be reserved for 365 days. If you do not reactivate your account before that, the address will become available for another customer to use.

You can reactivate your account by signing in within 365 days. Reactivating your email account will result in a new, empty Inbox being created. Note that if you have a mobile device or PC configured to automatically access your email account, then your email account will be reactivated when it is automatically accessed, and incoming email will once again be delivered. If you do not want that to occur, you should disable that configuration on your mobile device or PC.
