MailChimp is an email marketing service and the trading name of its operator, an American company, founded in 2001. By June 2014 it was sending over 10 billion emails per month on behalf of its users.
MailChimp began as a paid service and added a freemium option eight years later. It was originally going to be called ChimpMail, but the name was changed after the company discovered that they could not get that domain name

If you no longer need to use MailChimp, you can permanently close your account in your account settings.

To close your account, follow these steps.

    Click your profile name and choose Account.
    Click the Settings drop-down menu, and choose Pause or delete account.
    Click Permanently delete this account, and click Continue.
    Select Permanently Delete Account to delete your account.
    Answer the questions provided, and click Permanently Delete Account.
    In the Confirm Account Deletion pop-up modal, type DELETE.
    Click Delete Your Account to permanently close your MailChimp account.

We'll display a success message to let you know your account has been closed.
