If you want to close your Pokémon GO account, you’ll see in this manual that you can only do that by contacting the customer support team.

Remove Pokemon GO account Completely

1 Open the removal request form by going to https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=232387
2 Fill in your email, nickname, subject, reason for removal and acknowledge that account removal is permanent
Here’s are some examples of what you could fill in:
Your email address: the Gmail address you registered your Pokémon Go account with
Additional info/reason for your request: I’m not playing Pokémon GO anymore so please remove my account
Nickname of account you wish to delete: Fill in the username you have in the Pokémon GO game
Mark the 4 checkboxes to indicate that you understand that account closure is permanent and irreversible
=> Hit the ‘Submit’ button when you’ve done this to send the request
3 1 day later, the Pokemon GO support team answered my request for removal
in their email, there’s 1 phrase that’s really important: “If you’re sure you’d like to completely and permanently delete your Pokémon GO account, please reply to this email with the words “DELETE” so that we can process your request. All game data associated with your account will be completely and permanently deleted.”

A few weeks later, the customer service will remove your account. As the Pokémon GO is so popular at the moment, it will take them some more time than normal to close your profile, so keep in mind mind that it may take them some time to process your removal request and keep patience.
Once you’ve received a confirmation that they’ve closed your profile, you can delete the app from your iOs or Android device.
