How to deactivate (remove) your account
Deactivating your account will prevent you from accessing
the Nextdoor website. It will also remove you from the neighborhood,
with the exception of your past posts which will remain visible in the
newsfeed.
Sometimes when members ask to deactivate their Nextdoor accounts,
it’s because they aren’t comfortable showing their full address on their
Nextdoor profile, or because they’re receiving too much email. You can hide your house number on your profile or
change your email preferences to address these concerns. You may also update your address if you've moved.
If you'd still prefer to deactivate your account, follow the steps below on a
web browser:
- Sign in to your Nextdoor account.
- Click on your name in the top right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Select ACCOUNT in the tabs along the top of the page.
- Click Deactivate account, near the bottom of the page.
- Enter your reason for deactivation, and any other feedback you'd like to give.
- If desired, check the box next to Share this feedback with your neighborhood Lead.
- Click CONFIRM DEACTIVATION.
If you have not yet verified your Nextdoor account, you can access the
Deactivate my account link at the bottom left of the account
verification page. You may then follow steps 6 - 8 above to remove your
account.
